Many people possessing iDevices are not aware of what is jailbreak? Jailbreaking is the process of removing the limitations imposed by Apple on iDevices i.e. iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad running on iOS 5.0.1 and 5.0 etc. By jailbreaking a device users can gain root accesses to their devices while cracking Apple’s harsh resections. Jailbreaking is actually installation of a third part application called Cydia that allows users to customize and install their devices with apps, tweeks, themes, and many things not available through Apple’s App Store. Also to run the software that is not allowed by Apple.
Currently Supported Devices are:
iPod Touch 4G
iPod Touch 3G
iPad 2 and iPhone4S are currently not supported by jailbreaking which may be available soon.
Tethered and untethered jailbreaks
There are two kinds of jailbreak available:
Tethered jailbreak that requires the device be connected to a computer each time it needs to be booted due to any reason may be battery exhaust or else you need computer to restart your device.
Untethered jailbreak allows users to power on their device computer assistance.
Is Jailbreaking Illegal?
Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, jailbreaking Apple devices is legal in the United States, although Apple has announced that the practice “can violate the warranty”.
