Pangu Updated But Cannot Jailbreak 9.1

Apple has updated the iOS 9 to new and more secure version i.e. 9.1 which in addition to other bug fixes also patches the Pangu iOS 9 Jailbreak exploits.

Pangu team also have updated the jailbreaking tool to v1.1.0 in order to achieve more satisfied jailbreak users by increasing the success rate.

Pangu iOS 9.1 Jailbreak Updated

Following are highlights of the newly released Pangu 1.1.0 version which can jailbreak ios 9 & 9.0.2.

  1. Improve the success rate and reliability of jailbreak program for 64bit devices
  2. Optimize backup process and improve jailbreak speed, and fix an issue that leads to fail to jailbreak due to low disk space in Windows.
  3. Fix a bug that leads to an exit of the jailbreak tool due to abnormal network status.
  4. Add the re-jailbreak function (only for some devices that were upgraded via iTunes but were detected as jailbroken)
  5. Fix a bug that leads to fail to use the instrument function in Xcode.

Below is a little bit about the newly patched exploits in iOS 9.1 due to which iOS 9.1 Jailbreak is not available right away..

configd

  • Available for: iPhone 4s and later, iPod touch (5th generation) and later, iPad 2 and later
  • Impact: A malicious application may be able to elevate privileges
  • Description: A heap based buffer overflow issue existed in the DNS client library. A malicious application with the ability to spoof responses from the local configd service may have been able to cause arbitrary code execution in DNS clients.
  • CVE-2015-7015 : PanguTeam

GasGauge

  • Available for: iPhone 4s and later, iPod touch (5th generation) and later, iPad 2 and later
  • Impact: A malicious application may be able to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges
  • Description: A memory corruption issue existed in the kernel. This issue was addressed through improved memory handling.
  • CVE-2015-6979 : PanguTeam

If you are on older version and you are a jailbreaker keep calm and don’t try to upgrade to 9.1 until you are sure that iOS 9.1 Jailbreak is achieved either by Pangu or TaiG teams. We shall keep you updated on every stage of work for achieving the tool to jailbreak 9.1.
