iPad Touch jailbreak on iOS 6 is a tethered jailbreak till now that means whenever you will need to restart your ipod touch for any reason you will have to connect your device to your computer and boot tethered using the RedSn0w jailbreak software. This iOS 6 jailbreak is compatible with iPod Touch 4G, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3gs. This ios 6 jailbreak uses the limera1n exploit which is till now tethered and we may not get the untethered ios 6 jailbreak immediately therefore if you can compromise the drawbacks of a tethered iOS 6 jailbreak for the time being you can install this Redsn0w jailbreak and start using the jailbreak apps on your iPod Touch.

Also you must note that this iOS 6.0 jailbreak does not install Cydia in the typical way i.e. by default, instead you will need to install Cydia on iOS 6 seperately using the command line.

So lets start the process of iPod Touch iOS 6 Jailbreak.

How To Jailbreak iOS 6 iPod Touch

1. Download the iPod Touch iOS 6 ipsw firmware file for your devices from our iPod Touch Firmware Download page.
2. Download RedSn0w 0.9.13 dev 4 version from our jailbreak free download page.
3. Run the RedSn0w.exe as the administrator.
4. Got to Extras => Select IPSW => Browse for the firmware file which you downloaded in first step and click OK.
5. Go back to main RedSn0w screen and click Jailbreak. After some processing select the option of Install SHSH because the Cydia is not installed by default.
6. Click next and put your device in DFU mode by pressing the power and home buttons as per the screen instructions. Once your device goes in DFU mode the jailbreak process will complete.
7. Once your device is ready after iOS 6 jailbreak, go back to redsn0w main screen and go to => Extras => Click Boot Tethered, put your device in DFU mode and let the device complete the reboot process.
8. Now your iPod Touch is having iOS 6.0 jailbreak, but you will not see Cydia on springboard. Follow below process to install Cydia on iPod Touch.

How To Install Cydia On iPod Touch After Jailbreak iOS 6

Note down the IP address of your iphone or ipad, go to Settings => Wi-Fi => Tap right arrow on your Wi-Fi connection and note down the IP Address.

Install Cydia After iOS 6.0 Jailbreak using Windows PC

 If you are windows user just start the command prompt from Accessories => Command Prompt or Type cmd and hit Enter. A new DOS window will start now connect your device by entering command ssh root @ 10.0.1.27 (change IP address with your device IP), give password alpine when asked.

Connect Using Putty

Some peolple are unable to connect to their jailbroken iPhones or iPods using the windows command prompt, there you can download putty and use it for installing the Cydia on jailbroken device. Open the putty and insert the IP address of your device in the field of Host Name, secondly make sure you have selected the option of ssh in the field of Connection Type. Now Click open, once the putty is connected to your device it will ask you the user name and password give user name as : root and password as: alpine. Now you are connected to putty command prompt insert the following code in that window and press enter just copy from below and paste in putty window: 

wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://downloads.kr1sis.net/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh

Install Cydia After iOS 6.0 Jailbreak Using Mac Computer

First of all connect your device to the computer and start the terminal which is a command prompt based utility in the Mac OS X, the window will look like below image.

Now type below command in terminal command prompt window and press Enter.

ssh root@10.0.1.27 (change highlighted IP with your device’s IP address

When the terminal window will ask to provide the password provide password alpine

Now your terminal is connected to the jailbroken device successfully, now type below command in the command prompt and press Enter.

wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://downloads.kr1sis.net/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh

Once the Cydia installation commands are entered perfectly you will see progress on computer as well as on your iphone, ipod or ipad where you are installing Cydia. Wait untill the device reboots and becomes ready. 

Boot Tethered iOS 6.0 Jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4th Gen & iPad

Now the last step is remaining because this is a tethered iOS 6.0 jailbreak therefore you have to boot your device tethered so that you can use Cydia, otherwise Cydia and Safari will not work on your device.

Start RedSn0w 0.9.14 => Extras => Boot tethered => Put your device in DFU mode and it will reboot tethered.

Enjoy now your device will have tethered iOS 6.0 jailbreak with Cydia installed.
