Jailbreak 6.0.1 Untethered /Tethered: You can jailbreak 6.0.1 untethered and tethered for pre A5 devices but limited to iPhone 4, 3GS and iPod Touch 4G only. The jailbreak tool which you will use for 6.0.1 jailbreak is RedSn0w 0.9.15b3 or 0.9.15b2. Remember you will also need to download the iOS 6.0 firmware even if you have upgraded to 6.0.1 already.

This iOS 6.0.1 jailbreak is tethered for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch. If you have iPhone 3GS Old Bootrom this is Untethered iOS 6.0.1 Jailbreak. If you want to know whether your bootrom is old or new simply go to Settings => General => About and check the model number if it starts from MC it is new bootrom and if it starts from MB it is old bootrom. So if you have old bootrom you are lucky and you can fully enjoy the iOS 6.0.1 Untethered jailbreak. So follow below steps to jailbreak iPhone 4,3gs and ipod touch.

How To Jailbreak 6.0.1 Untethered /Tethered

Step 1: Download the iOS 6.0 firmware ipsw for your device from below links

Step 2: Download RedSn0w 0.9.15b3 from Jailbreak Download Page and extract the .zip file.

Step 3: Open the extracted folder and run the RedSn0w.exe file by Right clicking and Open As Administrator in Windows.

Step 4: In the main RedSn0w Window open Extras =>Select IPSW and browse and select the ipsw file which you downloaded in step 1, this is 6.0 ipsw but it is required to jailbreak 6.0.1.

Step 5: Go back to main screen and click jailbreak the window will show message "Preparing Jailbreak Data" and then "Patching Kernel" after that it will show you options to select. Make sure Install Cydia is selected you can also select other options but if first and third options are already selected leave it as it is. Click Next

Step 6: At this stage RedSn0w will display some instructions and you need to turn off your device before clicking Next.

Step 7: Put your device in DFU mode by pressing the combinations mentioned on the screen. Once you put in DFU mode the jailbreak will start and finish after a while. If Cydia is not there don't worry.

Step 8: Boot Tethered 6.0.1 Jailbreak:

This is final step to make your iOS 6.0.1 jailbreak useable, go to RedSn0w main screen and click Extras => Select IPSW and select the same iPSW as in step 4. Now select the option of Just Boot  in Extras. Follow the same steps for putting your device in DFU mode and your device will reboot with iOS 6.0.1 jailbreak and Cydia installed.

Enjoy.

Note: There are some issues and you may need to reinstall jailbreak if not done in first try.
