Auto App Killer Cydia Tweak: Give Your iPhone A Break From Low Memory Warnings!

Auto App Killer is a new Cydia tweak that allows users on jailbroken devices to have more control over running processes. The tweak automatically closes the apps in an attempt to save the iPhone’s memory. Sometimes, most of the available RAM is used up by too many apps running in the background. The current solution is to kill those background apps by closing them one by one. Auto App Killer is a life-saver in this regard!

After installing the tweak, users will be allowed to set a specific memory threshold. This is the minimum amount of RAM available wanted for the device to be running with before the running apps start to be terminated by the system in order to free up some memory space.

cydia tweaks Auto app killer The tweak can be configured to kill only those apps which aren’t required in the background. The nice thing is the tweak won’t kill an app that is being used for let’s say, streaming a video or playing music. However, it does have an option to kill apps even if they’re running in the background. For RAM usage, a margin can be set, such that if a certain number is exceeded by the margin, the tweak automatically kills the apps and frees up some RAM. Moreover, the apps that are tracking GPS positions or running any other specific background process won’t be closed! So you won’t have less control over your iPhone if you’ve been thinking you wanted the application to remain open but the tweak will close it down. It is a wonderful memory saving utility.

Even though it is not 100% perfect, you’ll find it 99% accurate in closing down what you needed to be closed. You can also configure it via Settings.app.

You can find Auto App Killer in Cydia from the BigBoss repo. It is available for $1.49 and works on a jailbroken iPhone and iPod Touch while it’s not compatible on the iPad for now. Let us know if you try out the tweak!
