Android 4.1 Source Code Now Available For Galaxy S2 I9100
The deal with android devices is users have to wait a long time to get the latest firmware updates. Some devices don’t even get the updates at all, and users have to turn towards the XDA Developers community to search for hacks and tweaks to flash or install the latest updates via custom ROMs etc. Galaxy S2 users, luckily, aren’t one of those who were deprived of android Jelly Bean.
The release date hasn’t been announced yet for the public. However, the developers can get a taste through the lately available GT-i9100_HK Galaxy S2 source code, which will allow the release of multiple custom ROMs over at XDA. The source code contains all the features expected in the latest firmware available and the new TouchWiz interface. Users would be able to download the latest custom ROMs at the end of the year for Galaxy S2 and enjoy the taste before the official release.
For those who are completely unaware, the handset contains 1GB of RAM and a dual-core A9-Cortex processor, so it’s more than capable of running the latest firmware. If you want to download the source code for android 4.1 Jelly Bean, you can do so by heading over to sourcecode.samsung.com. The firmwares available which the source code is based on are I9100ZSLS6 and I9100ZSLPG. Let’s see what the XDA Community makes from this source code. Feel free to leave comments.
