The new generation AirPods 2 and its AirPower wireless charging mat is expected to ship in the first half of 2019, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said.
As described in a previous post, the new AirPods will have a few improvments to the coating, bass and will feature a black color option. There are rumors of an existence of health sensors as well. The price is expected to rise by about $40, reaching $199.
Recently there was a report by UDN claiming that Inventec has begun shipping the AirPods 2, predicting their release this spring.
There are also predictions, by Kuo, of a faster processor iPod touch being launched this year. Although it hasn’t been confirmed but there are references to it, along with four new iPads, in the iOS 12.2 beta.
Theres a possiblity that these new headsets and AirPower will be launched at the services focused event on March 25th.
